Throwback Thursday...

Ignore the nekked girl... :-) This is all about the horse.
This horse has some history. This was my dad's horse as a kid and his parents gave it to him when Christy was born (I think). He has promised it to the first grandchild, so our lucky baby gets it. I think it will stay at Grandma and Grandpas though since it is a little big for our small place, and were all about sharing with future cousins. This thing is a little bit of a death trap compared to today's standards. Look at those exposed springs... oh my :-)

Think of the photo ops we'll have though :0)

the belly - 38 weeks

(it is really funny to see the size difference between the blog header and this picture)
I finally got around to taking a 38 week picture at 38 weeks and 6 days, but hey it was still 38 weeks :-) I have noticed that baby has dropped in the past few days. My ribs are feeling better and I have lots of pressure on my bladder. I'm shocked with the amount of energy I've had lately. Not only just nesting around the house but in other ways too. I can stay up till 11 pm or midnight which is totally unheard of for me and this pregnancy. When Ryan and I go for walks I don't have to ask him to slow down because for once I can actually keep up. All this energy is weird since I'm sleeping a lot less getting up at least 4 times a night. I hope that means baby is ready to come and I'll have all this energy for labor.

I'm still preparing myself that it could be two more weeks before baby comes, but I still keep tomorrow in the back of my mind. I don't mind being pregnant. I've heard people that just HAD to have their babies and couldn't take it anymore, but I'm good. This baby is pretty easy to take care of right now. I've been having little freak outs lately... I can't believe I'm going to have a baby!

Baby's Room Phase 2

We are finally "done" (it will always be a work in progress) with baby's room. I've been nesting like crazy because everyone keeps telling me "any day now..." and I don't want to leave for the hospital in the middle of the night and have to come home to a messy house. I think Ryan likes this part of pregnancy... besides the chores he has to do.

Here is baby's crib... the quilt on the end was made by Ryan's mom (more on that in a future post)

The changing table... Ryan made the shelves and I'm currently trying to make baskets for the cubbies, but a horrible tutorial has gotten the best of me and I had to take a break.
The view from the doorway.Baby's bed in our room sitting on the dresser. Our room is too small for a bassinet so I found this awesome bed. I'm in LOVE with it. Serene on the inside, fun and funky on the outside. It is really soft and cozy too. When I opened the box everyone said "oh Lula is going to love that". I haven't given her the opportunity to try it out, but if I leave it lying around I know she will cozy up in it.
OK baby, were ready... you can come out now.

We made it!

My whole goal this entire pregnancy was to make it through Dom and Megan's wedding... and I'm SO happy to say that I did it. I photographed their wedding at 38 weeks and 3 days. I wouldn't recommend it, but it can be done. I thought for sure the whole event would throw me into labor, but here I sit three days later still pregnant.

There was an OB at the wedding that said it could be any day now because she thinks the baby has really dropped. We made enchiladas last night for dinner hoping that would work because it worked for Jenny, but she was overdue, but still pregnant.

I don't mind being pregnant still, it isn't that bad. I'm a little freaked out about actually delivering, but I'm excited to meet this little person.

a little photo shoot

This is the belly at 38 weeks...(Don't worry, I'm still planing on doing the standard black and white to match the rest) Darcie is helping me shoot Dom and Megan's wedding this weekend so she was practicing with the camera last night. Man I'm getting huge.

We had a our doctor's appointment today and things are moving along. I'm 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I actually lost weight (a first) this week, but that was thanks to the stomach flu that hit me REALLY hard this weekend. My blood pressure was a little high, but I contribute that to stressing over this wedding, it wasn't high enough to worry about though. The little bean's heart rate was right around 140 beats per minute.

Ryan and I have been putting the finishing touches on the nursery and I'll take some pictures this weekend to show everyone.

the belly - 36 weeks

I'm actually 37 weeks and 2 days today... but I'm lazy and just now have gotten around to making a blog post.

I've been working a lot on the nursery this week and I'll post pictures once its a little further along.

We toured the Labor and Deliver wing at the hospital which made it feel very real, but also put me at ease knowing where everything would be and what options were available to me.

So the waiting continues... three weeks and counting.

Baby Shower

Last Saturday my sister, mom and friend Amy threw a shower for baby Kuntz. It was a little crazy, but a lot of fun. I felt like I was being pulled in a million different directions and didn't really get to talk to everyone.

Christy, Amy and Anita made some delicious food. Amy had a play a few fun games and then a few of us painted onesies for baby with freezer paper stencils. Unfortunately most of the moms couldn't participate in the painting, but I hope they still had fun. There weren't any pictures... the curse of always being the photographer, but we shot this one after everyone left (per Amy's request).

The bobcat onesie I painted per Ryan's request {or was it demand :-)}
Here is a sampling of the onesies we painted/stenciled everything from an elephant, monkey to angel wings and a "sink" bomb.Freezer paper stencils are VERY addictive. If you're interested in trying it just Google "Freezer Paper Stencils" and a slew of helpful tutorials will pop up. It is a "kid" friendly activity for those over 6 yrs old.
