there is a new boy in town...

Aiden's new cousin Cameron John was born yesterday at about 9 am. Mom and baby are doing great, although baby is already sticking his tongue out at Auntie Kelly's camera... not a good sign.

Chunk-O

We have a few nicknames for the people and doggies we love, most of them have been given by Ryan, for example:
Bailey (our dog) - Chunk (he has since trimmed down but was once 100+ pounds)
Lula (our dog) - Princess (if you've met her you know she's Ryan's princess)
Keegan - Frank... the tank (he is a big boy...)
Aiden - Junior
Well Karma has struck and punished little Ryan for giving Keegan his nickname. Aiden's new nickname is chunk-0.

Ryan came home from golfing on Wednesday night took one look at Aiden sleeping in his chair and said "WOW, he looks huge..." Well honey thats because he is huge. We went to the pediatrician for our three week check up and Aiden is a whopping 10 pounds 11 oz! He gained 2 pounds and 6 ounces in 2 weeks... 2 weeks people! He has grown an inch and a quarter too. Why do babies have to grow up so fast?

Weekend Wrap-up

Mark and Joslyn came to visit last weekend. They finally got to meet little Aiden. My favorite part of the weekend was what Ryan daubed the "pre-tailgating warm-up bbq". We enjoyed kabobs and corn on the cob followed by smores, it was delicious!

Notice the Bobcat flag flying on the right and Ryan's Bobcat shirt and Bobcat hat. I'm surprised he didn't make us sing the fight song :-) He is a super fan...

and got some good cuddle time with Joslyn, he was very content with her.

So remember this post when Aiden just wanted to be held all day. Well I told Ryan when he got home from work and he asked "Well why didn't you use the baby bjorn?" Ahh because I didn't think of it! jeeze

Thanks Jerry and Jenny for passing the bjorn on to us... it is a life saver!

pajama day!

Aiden and I took a much needed pajama day today :-) I've been a little too social and going into town three times a week (at a minimum) because I've been going to the chiropractor. We had a rough weekend though and Aiden has been a little extra fussy. He still is a really good baby and he is pretty good to us. We decided to lay low today and Aiden is loving it. He only was fussy for 20 minutes (so far) and has slept like a champ. I think he likes pajama day.

Just don't tell Aiden that his jammies are technically called a "gown". Middle of the night diaper changes are much easier with a gown :-)
Aiden has dancing legs. When he is awake he is constantly moving his legs and stretching his feet.

Week two

Sorry I've been slacking on posing lately. I'm still getting used to this new role, while Aiden is getting used to life on the outside. I can't believe my baby is going to be three weeks old tomorrow! WOW!

Here is what we've been up to this week...

getting dressed up... I bought this "Delive(red)" shirt at the Gap in San Francisco when I was a mere 4 weeks pregnant. I feel like he has grown so much so I measured him, but he is still 21 inches so I guess he is just beefing up and not getting taller. He sure does look little here though.Posing for mom.and over it!

Taking a bath... Aiden LOVES the water!
Sleeping...Aiden loves his hands and always wiggles them out of a swaddle, but he soothes himself by sucking on his fingers and doesn't wake himself up with his hands so I've just started swaddling him with his hands up.
Last night we enjoyed dinner on the front porch. I love it when he purses his lips like this, he is just asking to be kissed :-) It looks like he is going to have blue eyes like his mama. His eyes are still a little bit yellow from some jaundice. He got two big bumps/bruises from coming into the world and is still trying to work it out of his system.

I'll try to be a better blogger! I'm still taking a photo every day though :-)

Chill'n

What we do best.We took Aiden camping this past weekend (yes were a little crazy) it went great. We stayed with my parents in their 5th wheel so it wasn't "real" camping, but camping none the less. Aiden slept the weekend away, but when he was awake he was mellow and relaxed.

Some days you just need to be held...

Aiden is having one of those days. He is such a good baby. He usually only cries when hungry, or dirty. Today he just wants to be held, just like this. If I try to cradle him or lay him down he cries the saddest cry you've ever heard. My arm is killing me and this is really hard to type, but he is finally sleeping so it works for me. Heck who doesn't love a little cuddling.

Why is photographing your own newborn so stink'n hard!? I've made two attempts... both not so great. I'll keep trying... hopefully he'll start cooperating soon. I think his daddy must have told him that the camera is evil.

Here is the best so far... I love his little lips and big chubby cheeks.

So the morning we had Aiden my sister Christy hung out with us while Ryan went home and took care of the doggies and got ready for the day. I don't know if it was the sleep deprivation or what but Christy started to notice all of the 3s, 5s and 8s in Aiden's life at a few hours old.

he was born on 5/30/08 at 1:53 am weighing 8 lbs 5.3 oz, his head is 13.5 inches, his chest was 13.75 inches and we were in room 230. And each of his names has 5 letters in it. So she says 3 and 5 are Aiden's lucky numbers :-)

I think it was grandpa Larry who noticed that Aiden has ALL the vowels in his names, and almost in order. LOL

We're going to attempt a photoshoot today so stay tuned.
